Four Ways To Run Your Life Like A Business
Many people have difficulty managing their lives. They run around in a total state of disorganization like chickens with no heads. Even their romantic relationships don't succeed and because they're unable to understand what's happening to them, they seek professional help. Ultimately, they meet up with a slew of therapists who spew out nothing more than a bunch of technical verbiage meant only to confuse their patients.

In the end, these people remain baffled as to why they're successful in the business world, but not in their personal lives. This can be explained by the fact that in the workplace, training was involved. People go to school, learn how to deal with situations, and then it's just a matter of applying the knowledge. When they get to their personal lives, they're totally clueless as to how to proceed. What they don't realize is that they can employ the same principles and run their lives like a business.

Here are a few things you should start doing in your personal life if you want it to be lucrative:

1- Manage your time
The single most important factor in succeeding in your personal life is to unfailingly apply all your time management skills. You do it in the office, so why not at home? This means you have to keep track of all your appointments and activities. We have a tendency to only take note of the things we really mustn't miss like a doctor's appointment. But what about an afternoon of softball with your buddies? Are you going to write it down?
There's a reason we do participate in these pastimes: to relax and take our minds off stressful concerns. So technically, these activities have their importance. Write them down. Schedule in some leisure time or moments with the family. In addition to keeping this program, you must absolutely stick to it. Sometimes these occasions are the first to get bumped out when something business-related comes up. You have to resist that urge unless extremely necessary.
When you do something, make sure it serves a purpose. Read books that teach you something, watch documentaries instead of sitcoms. The point is to spend most of your time doing more productive things — never waste any of your precious time.
Avoid fighting, find someone to look up to and keep your wallet fat...
2- Don't seek confrontation
You might have noticed that you do a lot better at the office when everybody loves you. If you've ever been unfortunate enough to experience the resentment of co-workers, you are aware that climbing the corporate ladder in an upward fashion is virtually impossible. In this dog-eat-dog climate, it's often easy to let tempers flare, but it never does anyone any good.

If you think about it, you'll realize that it's the same way in the social world. Life is too short to constantly be on the lookout for quarrels. You only have so many hours of free time; use them constructively. Don't argue with your friends unless it's in a playful manner. Don't hold grudges against others; value each of your friends. Who knows, they might be in a position to help you someday.
When you do get into a fight with someone, resolve the conflict as quickly as possible. Again, life is simply too short. Be the bigger person and make the first move. Lives have been wrecked by people who are too stubborn to apologize. Friends are too precious to let go over something that will no longer matter in ten minutes.
3- Choose a role model
You might already have one; a person that you admire for his business aptitude and unquestionable success. But what's keeping you from getting another? Only this time, instead of choosing a hero on the basis of their commercial achievements, choose them by judging their personal triumphs.
You don't have to look into the pages of magazines to do so. It can be someone close to you that you respect for the way they handle life. It can be your father, a brother, an uncle, a friend, or even a child. Imitate their outlook on life, their optimism, and their joie de vivre.
4- Watch your finances
Just like in business, money plays an important factor in your personal life as well. You need it for your home, your car, your hobbies, your children's education, and a multitude of other little things that only a family man can think about. You've already recognized the need to manage the finances tightly at the office. You have employees that depend on you, a lease to tend to, and other responsibilities that demand rigor from you.
